The cat is out of the bag and I have three days left at my current place of employment. Each job change I've been through has been difficult. This one though has been more difficult than any other time. I'm leaving this job feeling defeated. Why, because there was(is) so much opportunity for improvement and I never got traction to do what I do. I have had a lot of success at previous places and this job seemed like a great place for some career defining impact. What happened? In a nutshell I got challenged ways mentally that I was prepared for. This was a graduate course in learning how to lead from a subordinate position, and I'll admit I have a lot to learn. I'm skilled in diplomacy but not sure how to utilize that skill in order to lead people in a direction.
Anyways. I have a new job. I'm fairly certain that this job will remove me from hardware interaction. That makes me sad, but then again I realize I'm getting old and focusing and sharpening on one area is long over due.
This server just got a 256GB upgrade in the RAM department. I got to be a cheerleader.
