This past Thursday was my last day with my employer. I start at a new employer on Monday, I'm excited as I usually am when it comes to major change in my life. Maybe I'm actually suffering from anxiety.
I'll miss my peeps from my former job. Wednesday was my last time travelling to the actual headquarters. That was also surreal.
The surrealism could be related to the fact that I don't think I'll see these people again. My other jobs I knew I would see my peers again as Saint louis IT is sooo small. Oddly enough this job was the first I've worked in Saint Louis where none of my previous circles intersected with anyone. (Well just about none, there is one bit that intersected), I might share that story publicly one day, it is funny). Given the industry I was in, the industry I'm going to and the fact hq is in Illinois, it seems highly unlikely for a chance encounter. I'd always welcome it though since I try maintain relationships with previous coworkers and jobs.
